"Kings in Waiting"
Wherefore Saul sent messengers
unto Jesse,
and said,
"Send me David thy son,
which is with the sheep."
I Samuel 16:19
David had already been anointed,
by Samuel,
to become king,
long before Saul called him forth.
He had spent his time in the pastures,
with the sheep,
awaiting orders to go forth.
He occupied his time by playing music
and singing.
That was his favorite way to pass the time.
As I read of David's life,
I wonder at how many young men God has chosen,
but, yet,
they have not been able to recognize
their callings.
It seems that there are far too many
in the world today,
who need direction,
but they shall not receive it,
until they seek it.
Many may not even know that they
must pursue God,
in order to receive His divine calling,
to be placed in that most revered place,
the inner courts of His sanctuary.
David was a prince in God's courts.
He had a heart for God
and he worshipped Him in song.
It caught God's attention,
as he sat alone each day,
isolated from his family,
with the sheep.
David had many hours to amuse himself
with music and song.
He put his heart into his songs,
seeking the Lord, his God.
The sheep were entertained as they grazed.
Seeking God requires hours of aloneness.
As one quietens the spirit,
it becomes available,
to be filled with wisdom, knowledge,
and revelation.
The Holy Spirit begins to impart wisdom,
introducing Himself,
as we sit still and become aware of His Presence.
King Saul was a troubled man
and his spirit was in despair.
He longed for his peace to return,
and the music and the songs which David
had created,
in his loneliness,
soothed and healed Saul's soul.
We all know of songs today,
that have been anointed to do this.
Saul learned that David had courage,
as he volunteered to face the dreaded
Philistine giant.
David had a heart full of faith,
and the Lord was with him.
There are many giants in the world today,
who need to be defeated.
I believe God has men in mind,
to face them with courage and faith,
and that His hand of favor is with them,
as He was, with David.
David wasn't one to just follow the crowd.
He was different, had been set apart.
He spent his time in the pastures,
as his father requested.
He was a young man who honored
his father's wishes.
Just as David,
as God's men are chosen to go forth
and face the giants,
His hand will be with them, also,
and His favor will be displayed.
I am praying daily for more young men
to follow after God's heart,
as did David,
to yearn to become used of God,
without fear or reservation.
It is an honorable thing to do,
and God will surely bless those who are
seeking Him.
He is searching throughout the universe today,
for those who would be willing to seek Him,
so that His plans may be achieved,
through them.
His Kingdom shall ever increase,
as surrendered hearts come to know Him,
love Him,
as David did.
He will encourage those who do,
with special gifts, talents, connections,
and skills,
for such a time as this,
which we are living in.
There's a very special assignment waiting,
as was with David,
a divine anointing,
for those who are willing to step up to the plate,
and receive.
And, it doesn't matter, the age.
It's never too late to seek God,
with a heart,
that needs fulfillment and contentment,
peace.
I feel that it is very crucial
to pray for the young children,
in our families,
for God to place His desires,
into their hearts,
at an early age.
If we pray, He will answer.

Dear Father God,
We lift up the young children of our nation,
our world, today,
and we pray for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit,
to begin a yearning in their hearts,
to seek You.
Father,
as they spend their time in mundane activities,
begin to woo them,
into Your plans,
by Your guidance of desire,
and may they begin to seek those callings,
which You have ordained,
even before they were born.
Send forth messengers,
and connections,
which are needed,
so that they may be empowered and encouraged,
even further,
along the Way.
For our grandchildren, Father,
begin to shape their hearts,
while yet young,
to desire those things which You have planned,
and for them to know early,
and to yearn early,
after them.
We entrust the children,
regardless of age,
and the grandchildren,
to You
and we give You all the thanks,
all the glory and praise,
for leading them,
protecting them,
guarding Your plans,
each and every day,
for sending angels to aid,
In Jesus' name,
Amen
